I've had the privilege of going on a number of short-term missions trips through The Oak. Most recently, in 2014 I went to Russia on a work project with a missionary friend of Pastor Larry's. God spoke to me in many ways on the trip. From the generosity of individuals in the church body who funded the trip, to the way we were ministered to by the hospitality of the Russian church, to the way God has used the events of the trip to shape those of us who went on it months and years after we've returned.
What has stuck with me the most from that trip, however, is that God showed me how "missions" is about seeing where the fields are white (Matthew 9:37), and running out to join Him in the harvest, wherever and whenever that is.
