5 Solas Series

The Protestant Reformation // 500 Years

Six pastors in Central Illinois partnered together in 2017 to discuss the significance of the Protestant Reformation and why it matters to the church today. The pastors exchanged pulpits, and completed a sermon series called The Five Solas

The word, “Sola,” is Latin for “alone” or “only.”  These five “Solas” served as foundational principles of the Reformation.  They summarize the beliefs of the Reformers about the essence of Christianity.  They are a foundational set of biblical principles central to salvation or how a person can be in right standing with God.  For an excellent summary of the Five Solas, see: What Are the Five Solas
