Just North of Normal

The way that I think is just skewed enough that my views are unanticipated.  "Just North of Normal" reflects both where Ilive and work and how I think.  I hope always to be biblical, but I hope that I'll always surprise in some way.  Mostly, I hope to have fun pointing out how God's Word speaks to all of life.

Love'n 'em Like Jesus

God calls us to relationship.  With each other and particularly with himself.  In Matthew 22 He even went so far as to say that the greatest commandment is to "...love the Lord your God with all your soul and with all your mind."  Then he continued..."You shall love your neighbor as yourself."  Isn't that what ministry is all about?  Loving God, Loving People.  Relationships!

Gospel Talk

My hope is that these posts will stir you to share gospel moments with your children naturally in the course of your everyday conversation. And, it is my wish that you will dialogue with me and the other readers in a collective effort to mutually encourage each other in “gospelizing” our kids for the glory of Christ.

The E100 Challenge

We’re so excited to invite all the women of East White Oak Bible Church to take a fresh look at God’s Word—together. Join in by:
  1. Grabbing a copy of the E100 reading plan (at church or download).
  2. Adding your name to the group so we can be praying and encouraging everyone taking the challenge.
  3. Visiting here regularly to read what other E100 readers are learning, encourage others by sharing your thoughts in the comments, or submitting your own article to be posted.
  4. Subscribing to receive new posts via e-mail (click in that RSS icon in the header and choose your mail program) or in your blog feeder.

By day 100—November 30—our journey through 100 essential Bible passages will be complete. But it is our prayer that the truth taken in and time spent with the Lord will shape each of us to be women who are “accustomed to (characterized by) the word of righteousness” (Heb. 5:13). And by developing a community of sharing here, we hope our bonds at EWO will grow all the stronger as well.
