Youth Ministries

East White Oak Youth Ministries exists to prayerfully be used by God to help students know God through a personal relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ. We then walk alongside students and their families to help them to grow more Christ-like through understanding His Word and applying it to their daily lives. Third, we train, encourage and equip students to show Christ to those around them and throughout the world through Christ-like living and sharing their faith with others.
Ultimately, our goal is that we would be used of God to work, alongside the students' parents to produce disciples of Jesus Christ who in turn will make disciples of Jesus Christ throughout their lives.
Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and locations and attend a variety of schools. Our youth ministries draw from approximately 30 miles in any direction from the church and draw students from more than 20 different public and private schools as well as from numerous home-schools.
Our program consists of two interconnected parts, the Junior High (7th and 8th Grades), and the Senior High (9th-12th Grades). Our program also feeds into East White Oak’s active ministry to college age students, Ignite.
Our Junior High ministry consists primarily of Sunday morning Bible Studies, and our Wednesday night programing which includes: fun times, worship with our Jr High student led worship band (during the school year), large group lesson times, and breakout small groups. We also host an outreach event at least once a month, and a variety of special retreats, events, conferences, and a summer work camp.
Our Senior High ministry is multi-faceted with students participating in a variety of ministries. The main programming elements include: Sunday Morning Bible Studies; Sunday Nights with a rotation of Home meetings, outreaches, service projects, and worship & prayer; student led worship band, and a variety of small groups which meet in homes or at the church throughout the week.
Our Senior Highers also participate in various mission opportunities within the United States and throughout the world as a part of teams with other youth, adults, or individually.
East White Oak and our youth ministries and staff are also actively involved with multiple para-church organizations within the public schools that minister to our students and a very active Youth Pastors Network covering the Greater Bloomington/Normal Area.
